RAILROAD FACILITY PLANNING AND DESIGN
Preliminary planning, conceptual designs and preparation of engineering reports for the purpose of siting new railroad facilities, including maintenance shop facilities and appurtenances, bulk unloading facilities, intermodal facilities, line changes, sidings, yards, etc. Coordination with railroad operators and local agencies in the preparation of permit applications, procurement of utility and other infrastructure improvements. Topographic surveying for the preparation of plans, specifications, bid documents and other contract documents required to bid projects. Construction management of railroad facility projects is routinely provided to our clients. Designs include new tracks, buildings, bridges, site preparation and storm drainage, utilities, etc.

SURVEYING
Railroad Consultants, PLLC uses state of the art Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) and Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) total station equipment and receivers to conduct topographic surveying for highway/railroad grade crossing projects, grade separations, industrial development, track design and construction, hydraulic studies, preparation of railroad style valuation maps, right-of-way encroachment surveys, line changes, resolution of right-of-way issues, property exchanges, construction staking, permanent easements, preparation of maps and plans. Aerial surveys are conducted where the magnitude of the project makes it more cost effective than conventional surveys.

RAILROAD TRACK INSPECTION AND EVALUATION
Inspection and evaluation of existing main line track, sidings, lead tracks, and spur tracks for the purpose of collecting data in order make current evaluations, or plan for future maintenance, rehabilitation, or replacement requirements.
RAILROAD BRIDGE INSPECTION, EVALUATION, AND LOAD RATING
Inspection, evaluation, and load rating for 263k, 286k and 315k car loadings on timber, steel and concrete bridges, and drainage structures, for the purpose of collecting data in order make current evaluations, or plan for future maintenance, rehabilitation, or replacement requirements.
